Analysis of CBCT Bone Density Using the Hounsfield Scale

Assessing bone density in prospective dental implant sites is crucial both for choosing the type and planning a drilling procedure that will ensure implant’s primary stability osseointegration. This study aimed to investigate possible differences between densities of various edentulous maxilla mandible. The was conducted on group forty partly patients who underwent radiological examination by scanning areas interest using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Hounsfield units (HU) were analyzed dedicated software. Higher HU observed at site mandibular central incisors compared maxillary incisors. values first molars region higher than those molars. Buccal vs. lingual or palatal cortical did not differ significantly. Within limitations this study, it can be stated an objective assessment site-specific before installation implants may provide valuable clinical information selection size patient-specific protocol.
